In its first year (2006-2007) MONDAY NIGHT @ the MOVIES (MNM) was made possible through the assistance of the Oakville Arts Council. Fifteen films were shown at Encore Cinemas.

MNM was initially a program of the Oakville Arts Council in partnership with Film Circuit, which is a division of The Toronto International Film Festival Group*. Film Circuit now has more than 174 locations across Canada screening Canadian and international films in communities that would otherwise not have the opportunity to see them.
In its second year, MNM became completely independent, operating in partnership with Film Circuit and as a member of the Oakville Arts Council and the Mississauga Arts Council.
